He surprised every Indian to qualify to US open. His emphatic win in first round made us proud. But he lost in the 2nd round against more qualified, trained and experienced 23rd seed German Philipp Kohlschreiber. But he didn’t lost tamely took the fourth set 6-0 in style. But the German was too good for him. If he can learn from the mistake as he said that will be good for Indian tennis. He lost at his first Grand slam 6-3,6-4,0-6,6-2.
But Sania just blew up by her 10th seeded opponent earlier. No doubt she is sensation of the Indian tennis. No doubt she has the talent but it becomes habit to lose in the second round for the tennis star. Losing any match 6-0, 6-0 is humiliating for any player. She suffered against Flavia Panetta mostly because of her unforced error.
Sania made as many as 28 unforced errors in the 12-game match, compared to just six winners, spread equally on both sets. In the first set, Sania was broken thrice while the Indian squandered the only break point that came her way. She made 16 unforced error in the 22-minute set, four times more than Pennetta.
In the second set, Sania made 12 unforced errors, twice that of Pennetta. Only twice she had a chance to break the duck but Sania wasted the game points she had on the first and fifth games.
