Women are their own worst enemies. Is it true? Absence of man how easily bring calamity in house is once again proved in Mumbai. Suspecting that the young woman is having affair her mother in law set her ablaze. This incident also showed the cruelty of Indian woman. I don’t know how much punishment this lady will get, if young set ablazed by her husband, the husband must get life imprisonment.
Valli Nair (58), suspecting that her daughter-in-law was having an affair, would regularly nag Janaki about it and they would often have an altercation. The situation turned ugly on Friday afternoon, when Valli started blasting Janaki as soon as she returned home.
“With Janaki’s husband working and living in Qatar for the most time of the year, she would often go to meet her parents and friends in Thane. Janaki would also visit the telephone booth near their housing society and talk on the phone for nearly an hour every day. All these irritated Valli,” said senior inspector Gavande of Charkop police station.
On Friday, Janaki left the house around 12:30 pm and came back after half-an-hour. “As usual, both the women got into an argument and Janaki refused to tell her mother-in-law where she had been,” said Gavande. In a fit of rage, Valli picked up a can of kerosene from their kitchen and poured it over her unsuspecting daughter-in-law and struck a match to it. Janaki’s sister-in-law and her children were not at home at that time.
Alarmed by her screams, neighbors rushed to Janaki’s rescue, doused the flames and called the police. They took her to Bhagwati Hospital where she was admitted with 95% burns and died the next afternoon.
Janaki married Ravi Nair in 2007 and used to live with her mother-in-law, sister-in-law and her two kids. Ravi and his brother live in Qatar where they work as carpenters.
