Mean tv shows : Dadagiri, Roadies!

I am not a television freak, but I came across the some ‘reality’ shows of MTV and BINDAAS while surfing the tv channels.

In an episode Dadagiri Bindaas tv show anchor asked contestant to put his nose at her boot, sometimes the winner of competition asked to slap loser or throw egg to him or her. Anchor Esha (self claimed goddess) uses such slang languages that you can’t sit to see with children or parents. She even slapped a contestant too.

One episode of MTV roadies: Here, the girls get
tested on their Hindi vocabulary - one mistake and the guys get it between their legs. The fun continues at the vote out where Roadies’ very own journalist, Varisha, has to leave the show!

The show may seem to be funny but it’s not...It can harm public organ permanently. May be in show…the experts are doing this but it could be fatal for school or college boys.
Young boys who watch the program get motivated by this and they may practice it as ragging. So take it seriously and stop this bizarre show now. Owner and maker of the disgusting show(mtv roadies) should ask public apology.
Besides that some months ago I watched in MTV that after losing competition winner boy beat the loser boy by cane at hip (in front of a girl and host). I can’t remember properly but I think it was ‘roadies show’ too.

When many students are afraid to go college in first year because of ragging ...some senior students are banned at college, we can’t cherish this type of weird show in name of reality show.

If the show of “SHAKTIMAN” / using animals in cinema / ‘smoking by superstars’ were banned by the ministry then why this type of show should get continue?

All the participants go there by choice and not by force. They are 100% responsible for the consequences that they face.

@sanwali
so if a drunk girl passes through road at midnight and next day you find that she was raped ..then will you blame the girl?

Oh! Come on...don’t jump to your own conclusions. A girl never invites people to rape her but people fill up the form themselves to participate in such shows...alright!

They are not drunk either.

That is no excuse for the dirty uncultured show to continue. The contestants are carried away by the glamour and to be in the limelight they just do whatever it can. Secondly, it will have a very bad impact on the viewers, especially, the kids and teenagers. Anything broadcasted on T.V. or media should be within limits. We cannot have live shows of rape or molestations just to push TRPs. Can we?

CAN THOSE PARTICIPANTS BE HELD 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY UNTOWARD INCIDENT HAPPENING ANYWHERE IN THE SOCIETY AS A RESULT OF SUCH EPISODES BEING TELECAST? YOUNGSTERS GET CARRIED AWAY BY SUCH SHOWS. THEY WILL INCORPORATE THEM IN RAGGING SESSIONS IN YEARS TO COME.

Another thing You said that contestants are 100% responsible.Look I am not thinking about few contestants but lakhs of students appearing in college. Shows of MTV and Bindaas are popular. So innocent joniors could become easy prey. I think the so called reality shows are not reality show at all..they are expert and they are guided by owners and TRP. But try to understand the adverse affect in our real life. _____ From: Sanwali [mailto:

sorry sanwali ..can’t agree
if you take precaution then you can be safe. Lokk that holds true for men and women. In college years lots of boys addicted to smoking..why because they get company of the some senionrs who smoke profusely. I gave the company to my seniors but never shared some relaxation time and avoided some places to met them where they smoke without control.
result: I am not a smoker.
Similarly most of the women do not share time while cluster of boys are smoking they meet them at cinema hall etc. See indian women are not addicted to smoking generally.
Every women are not raped..some arrogant, over-confident girls are raped in urban area.

My question to Sanwali is: Can we have a live telecast of rape and molestation in the name of fun? There are many live-band artists out there jobless after live-bands were banned. They need to earn something or just for fun, they would be willing to be voluntary participants in such shows. There are also many girls out there who liked to get raped. [Its part of their sexual fantasy. I know many profiles on orkut and elsewhere]. Raped by a known person however; not an unknown stranger. So, can we have such shows? Would it not have any impact on society?

Kindly divert this question to the writer of the post(Rudra) coz he was the one who mixed the two topics, not me. I was talking about the show and not the rape cases. They are in no way linked with each other. And why do you guys always have such topics on your minds? Anyway, none of my business!

Second, i don’t like getting involved in baseless arguments. There are thousands of things in our country which is bad for the young generation. Go help them to get rid of all of them. Guys you have to accept the fact that today’s youth is changing for both good and bad. Accept the change or keep cribbing about it. I have accepted it.

Roadies is the most popular show amongst younsters, you can’t deny this. You can’t give this lame excuse that youngsters get carried away. Give me a break! they are not kidos who’ll get carried away, they are proper adults above 18. They have their minds in order.

Sorry, i don’t buy your views and please leave me with mine and carry on argumenting with each other as i am out of this.

I also don’t believe in your argument that you have accepted everything and all the change that is happening. This will completely change when you get personally affected by some of these changes yourself. I believe in fighting wherever I can. Its not cribbing. Our generation gets carried away too easily by concepts. That’s not a baseless argument. The real affects would be realised only later when this kind of nonsense would be incorporated in schools and colleges in the form of ragging.
