'Half-strength' Australia conquered India in sub-continent soil

When Australia arrived India to play seven match oneday series Ponting knew that this is going to be a tough task. Look back who were absent from the 15 men squad: dependable batsman Michael Clarke, solid wicket-keeper batsman Haddin and a bowler always check batsman Nathan Bracken and Ferguson. Though India played whole series without ace bowler in form Zaheer Khan but Australia was weaker.

Now as the series started Australia was getting weaker..losing their some key men like speed-star Bret Lee, James Hopes. Trouble grew severe as Tim Paine, Peter Siddle, Henriques flew back home. So Australia played last three matches with inexperienced squad.
After first onedayer Aussies went one up at Vadodara. But Dhoni and Co. professional display took the lead 2-1 after 3rd one dayer at Feroz Shah Kotla. Australia won at Hydrabad in nail-biting finish. So two teams came to Guwahati 3-2.

It was different pitch in Guwahati (not a batting paradise) and there is always some movement is there for the seam bowlers. India lost two batting spearheads in very first over to Mitchell Jhonson. And little master was fooled by day’s hero Bollinger with sharp return catch. Then India slumped to 27-5..and never recovered. We must praise Ravindra Jadeja and Praveen Kumar for crossing India’s total three figures.

India didn’t play badly, but seems to me they were over-confident. As Harbhajan said earlier they were going to take series 5-2. But I think luck also not favouring them…oneday Sachin played lone hand India lost by 3 runs….otherday Harbhajan and Praveen made record breaking partnership but sachin and top order failed that day.

Has anyone wondered why India bats second in a day and night match? These guys are putting on a show for prime time television. Irrespective of the pitch conditions and other parameters. The Indian cricket team is a team of models and actors and not cricketers

The Aussies are superior not because they are more talented but because they are more committed to their game.

Fielding is a big draw back of Indian side. Indian cricketers are famous that when they are on field, they are expecting their servants to pick up the ball for them and then they should be rewarded by millions of dollars. There is no other game and another team on earth who has been branded as millionaires factory without doing (manufacturing) anything fruitful.

I am surprised that India thinks Cricket is the only sport and cricket team overnight becomes millionaire. In Australia, a population of less than New Delhi, we have AFL, Rugby, Athletics, Horse racing etc. equally important and have always been in first 5 positions in Olympics inspite of having practically no population size in comparison to China, India, USA etc. Indians should change their attitude towards cricket. I am also very much disappointed with Lalit Modi and film stars giving too much of importance to cricket.
