INDORA(Kangra): In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old boy earned the dubious tag of being the country’s youngest rape suspect after he was booked for the alleged rape of a six-year-old girl after subjecting her to violent assault.
Charged under section 376 (rape) of IPC, the accused was granted bail by a juvenile court after spending a night in a police lockup.

How can a 9 year old child rape a six year old girl? He might have assaulted the girl, may have harmed her physically but can't rape her. I don't trust even the medical report.

We Indians have dual character. Whenever we hear a news of teenage pregnancies in UK we trust it but we are not ready to accept the news of rape by 9 year old boy. If it's possible in UK why not in India?

If a teenage boy had committed the act, I would believe it. But not a 9 year old boy. Tomorrow, you would say that a 3 year old has done it.

Are all of the people who say a 9 year-old can’t rape a girl joking? Rape is not about sex. It is about power, fear, intimidation and control. Have you read the story? He beat her and tied her up and then assaulted her. If any of this involved him stimulating her genitals with any part of his body or with a foreign object, that is textbook rape. The boy would not even need to be sexually aroused.

It is absolutely stupid and outrageous to say that rape is not about sex. If it is not about sex (If sex is not involved at all) then it cannot be rape. Fear, intimidation etc. can be created in other ways if the so-called perpetrator wanted to. If the boy has indeed used his genital organ to touch the girl with it, it cannot be ”Text-book” rape or some other form of rape. IT IS NOT RAPE. Period. It is an assault! Don’t invent words. Rape is something totally different. You cannot extrapolate things and create criminals out of none.

Don’t try to conform to popular perception of feminism that our generation has got attached to. Education is not about adhering to popular thinking or about being cool. Its about your ability to think for yourself. I understand that you are trying to adhere to popular perception. But that gets you nowhere. Think and use your brains. Bullying is also about showing authority and power. It happens all over. Does that constitute rape? Anybody who would say that this boy has raped the girl are crazy or are radical feminazis.

If I go by your logic, even bullying in schools/ colleges or elsewhere and ragging should constitute ”Text-book” rape. Most cases of ragging are sexual assaults or have sexual leanings.
